I’ve been thinking for a while about creating a site where I could share all the things I find in my genealogical research. Mainly I just want to create it as a resource for family to stop by and read what I’ve found.
I’d love to get family members to share stories and let me know if corrections are needed. So PLEASE DO!
I’ve always been interested in history and the things I’ve found about my family history have made me understand our world a little better. For one thing, it REALLY is just a small world after all!
A few years ago I started binging true crime podcasts which led me to want to get my DNA tested. More on that in a future post. With the DNA test I found I am 27% Jewish and I still have not connected the dots to find out where exactly that came from.
Listening to true crime also made me start asking my Daddy questions about his time as a captain in our state prison system. I started recording those stories. Then I started recording stories from his mom, Nanny, who turned 100 years old this year. After my mom’s mom passed we were gifted a precious box of newspaper clippings and old photos. I also have access to old photos of my husband’s family. All these past connections are so special and I cannot wait to share them with anyone who happens to stop by and read them.
Now which story should I choose to post first???
In case you are wondering what 100 years young looks like, here are a few photos of Nanny at her Centenarian Celebration.
